Two Men Charged with Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
